Thank you for your interest.
We are Bob Ayers and Lizbeth Ecke – former YMCA branch Board Members.
Last year, a so-called investigation very effectively buried the sad and troubling stories we had collected to that point. New stories emerge frequently and the theme remains – the Y’s most valuable resource, its wonderful staff, is intimidated, discouraged and prevented from truthfully sharing its thoughts and concerns.
Our current effort is focused on sharing with you some past horrendous stories that the so-called investigation of Y Management buried at the end of 2015. These stories should have caused major changes within the YMCA of San Diego. We have not seen the changes. If you have any stories that you would like to share with us please email us or if you’d like to remain anonymous you can send things to our drop box at https://sendtomycloud.com/sendtoynowsd
Feel free to wander these pages to learn as much as you want about the leadership of the YMCA of San Diego.

The Y of San Diego continues to perform thousands of wonderful acts each day through its thousands of wonderful staff and volunteers. Please remember that our concern and attention is only directed to a few – but those few are the ones that closely control the information and decisions.
We remain on a mission to raise the awareness of fundamental changes being made to the San Diego Association of the YMCA. These changes are affecting the Y branches in San Diego County and the thousands of people they serve. These changes affect the stated mission of the Y. Are the changes for the good? Have the changes been carefully considered? Are there reasoned and calculated projections for the intended and unintended consequences of these changes? In the three (now four) years that we, and many other good people, have been asking questions and seeking assurances, we are left with doubt. We are still off of our YMCA Branch Board that our fathers founded. Our questions remain unanswered. This website describes a part of our story….so far.
Take a look at these pages and let us know your own stories, thoughts and ideas. We know that our combined efforts to ask reasonable questions of the people who can make a difference can only result in a more healthy Y.
